Google PageRank Update NOW – Erm, NO

Well no one can be right 100% of the time, what looked like a Google PageRank update occurring last Friday now looks like it was just an error with one of the tools we use to track Google PageRank. However it has been a number of months since the last Toolbar PageRank export took place so we would expect the update to occur in the coming weeks.

Whilst on the subject of the toolbar PageRank, there are many and frequent discussions online about the toolbar PageRank not being of use, as it is not a true or accurate representation of what a websites actual PageRank is.

Well I have a couple of takes on this, I agree that the Google Toolbar PageRank is not accurate as it is exported approximately every three months and true PageRank is constantly evolving.

However the toolbar does give a good indication to both SEOs and website owners as to how well their websites are established within the internet community and also enables website owners to monitor, albeit very loosely, the progress of their SEOs.

Google PageRank Update NOW

Has anyone noticed any odd changes to Google PageRank, right now?

It seriously looks like a PageRank update is occuring as I type this message.

For instance if you have the SEO for Firefox plug in, or similar and are able to view PageRank from the Google search results, perform a search for moo marketing and repeat the search a number of times, you will notice our PageRank fluctuates from 0 to 4.

So will our site update to a PageRank of 4? We have been looking at a number of other websites such as BJL, not just ours and this is occuring for many sites.

What will you be?

Yahoo! Ex CEO Sells Stock

There are numerous rumours doing the rounds that the ex Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel has cashed in his chips. During Monday and Tuesday of this week Terry Semel sold some 180,000 shares in Yahoo!. The sale of shares has made Terry Semel approximately $4 Million.

As of August 7, the price of a share in Yahoo! is currently 1,154.00p up 3.22% on the previous day, so was that a good day for Terry Semel and indeed any other person with Yahoo shares to sell?

Have your say on Google News

Google have recently announced they will be performing modifications to the Google News US website to enhance usability and visitor experience. The major modification will be to allow its users to add comments to the news articles.

Initially the people who are able to post comments will be limited to a select number of Google News visitors, specifically people and companies who are mentioned or featured in news articles published by Google.

Google have stated that any / all comments placed on the site in relation to news articles will be published without being edited.

Are Google to enter mobile phone market?

Over recent weeks and months Google have heavily invested millions of dollars into its own mobile phone project including meeting and talking with numerous mobile operators all over the world. But just what is the Google mobile project?

Reuters have announced that Google have talked with ‘Taiwan’s High Tech Computer’ to design and develop a mobile phone based on Linux, which should be launched within the first three months of 2008.

So Google have a phone, but what network will I be able to use? Currently it looks like if you are within the UK that you would need to be on the Orange network and in the US T-Mobile.
