YouTube Revenue Share

YouTube, the video sharing giant owned by Google, is to beginning a revenue share scheme in which they will soon begin paying the major contributors a share of the AdSense revenue generated by the Google AdSense adverts that appear for their videos.

A YouTube representative has spoken on the YouTube blog announcing that the revenue share scheme will include thousands of mid to large sized content contributors. They go on to say that the people likely to benefit will be the likes of production houses (including video game designers) and universities.

MySpace and AdSense

It appears that MySpace have taken their links with Google one step further in recent days with the addition of Sponsored links appearing on many of the member pages of MySpace.

I have mixed feelings about this on one hand it seams a shame that MySpace have resorted to sponsored links, however it always felt like inevitability. On the other I feel that the adverts people place on the content network are about to reach a possible 140 million additional targeted people.

I look forward to reading other peoples view on this matter; I will be keeping my eye on the myriad of forum posts that will follow.
