Mozzies Success Leads to Sponsorhip Extension

The Manchester Mosquitoes Aussie Rules Football Club and Moo Marketing are delighted to announce that they have extended their partnership for a further 12 months. The two began their successful venture in 2010, a year which proved to be historic for the Mozzies, seeing them take out the premiership against Nottingham in August.

Club co-presidents Brendan Edwards and Rosie Marsiglio reiterated how happy the Mozzies were to secure the partnership. “We are delighted that Moo Marketing has decided to join us for another season. The last 12 months since Moo joined have been phenomenal. Like Moo, we are dedicated to staying at the top of our game and their support maximises our opportunity to achieve this.”

The sentiments were echoed by Moo Marketing director Andy Watts: “Moo Marketing is extremely happy and proud to extend our sponsorship of the Manchester Mosquitoes. Following their Grand Final success and unbeaten season in 2010 we are excited to see what 2011 holds.”

Manchester Mosquitoes Orientation Day

The Manchester Mosquitoes – the Australian Rules Football team sponsored by Moo Marketing – are holding a club orientation day on Sunday 24th of October. It’s a chance for people who are interested in the sport to get a bit mre information about the ins-and-outs of the game, the UK league system… and whatever else the Mozzies think you need to know about Aussie Rules.

There’ll also be a light training session to provide a taste of the Mozzies’ usual training regime. People who have previously played the game are more than welcome; anyone who wants to get involved is invited. It’ll be held at Burnage Rugby Club. Start time is 11am and it’ll be running until 1pm.

It promises to be a fun day, and you’re pretty much guaranteed to learn something, even if it’s just that the Aussie Rules scoring system is a little bit more complex than most games that involve kicking a ball! All the times we’ve been down to Burnage Rugby Club to watch the Mozzies play we’ve had a whale of a time, so expect fun, as well as a good work-out.

The Burnage Rugby Club bar will be open once the training session has finished, so there’ll be a chance to relax and chat with the team. Remember to congratulate them on their recent championship win!

Manchester Mosquitoes Win Championship

Manchester Mosquitoes, the Australian Rules Football team that we sponsor, are officially North West and Central league champions. They beat Nottingham Scorpions in a nail-biting final; the match was decided in the last two minutes of play. Naturally, much celebration followed.

The Mozzies definitely deserve their position as league champions, having won every match since the start of the season and the beginning of our sponsorship. They’ve done us – and themselves – proud.

Mozzies kicking their way to victory

As well as the impressive result, it was also great to see the Mozzies getting a bit of publicity. The BBC covered the build up to the final on TV as well as the online. As this article on the BBC news website says, Aussie Rules Football is becoming increasingly popular. In fact, one of Moo Marketing even joined in with a pre-match kick-about at the final… (he did need a bit of a breather afterwards).

The Mozzies have completed their season in the best possible way. Moo Marketing would like to say a big congratulations to the whole Manchester Mosquitoes team; it’s not just the people who play on the pitch, after all. Well done to all of you. We’re already looking forward to the next season, and we’re glad our sponsorship helped the Mozzies make it to the top!

Everyone’s A Winner.

The Manchester Mosquitoes’ first game of the season (and their first game since signing their sponsorship deal with Moo Marketing) went very well indeed. They won a convincing victory in their first game, beating the Sheffield team 15-16-106 to 1-8-14: the Aussie rules scoring system is pretty complex!

The Mozzies also played a social game against Wolverhampton Wolves. And a very social day it was for all involved; there was a good turn-out, and everyone enjoyed Burnage Rugby Club’s excellent facilities. For the players and those of us who weren’t running around like lunatics on the pitch, there was a BBQ and a post-match Raffle to enjoy. Oh, and a well stocked bar…

Aussie rules is an excellent spectator sport, and the Mozzies made us very welcome. We’re hoping that their winning streak carries on, and we’re definitely looking forward to their next match.

The Mosquitoes’ next home game is on the 12th of June – two days after the Big Chip awards – and we’d like to extend an invitation to anyone who fancies watching some full contact sport and having a (hopefully not full contact) chat. For those who’ll be attending the Big Chip awards, there should be enough time to recover between events.

We’ll be posting blogs and tweeting (tweets will be tagged #ManchesterMozzies) with more information about the next Manchester Mosquitoes game closer to the date. Until then, another big congratulations to the Mozzies, and a big thank-you to everyone who was there on the day.

MOO BBQ.

You may remember us making a bit of a fuss about signing a sponsorship deal with our local Australian Rules Football Club, The Manchester Mosquitoes. Well, they’re playing their first games of the season this Saturday, at their home ground: Burnage Rugby Football Club. There are a fair few other teams playing as well, so it should be quite a lively affair.

We enjoy a chance to network as much as the next marketing agency, so we’ll be attending the Mozzies’ first game with the intention of making friends (and having a pint or two). If you fancy coming down for a chat – and to watch the Manchester Mosquitoes get stuck in – follow this link to RSVP online.

There’ll be beer, BBQ, Aussie Rules Football, and us. What’s not to love? We’ll be tweeting about it (we’re @moomarketing) and we’re tagging our tweets #ManchesterMozzies and #mooBBQ. You’re more than welcome to join in the conversation.

Burnage Rugby Club is within walking distance of Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre in Didsbury, Manchester:

Fancy it? Register on the Eventbrite page so we’ve got an idea of how many people are coming. It should be a great day, and we look forward to seeing you there.

PS: come on the Mozzies!
